Custom Wedding Suit Measurements

Waist Circumference

The waist measurement is taken exactly where their pant waistband normally sits. With the person facing you in a relaxed posture, pass the tape measure around their waist to meet at the front. This measurement should be taken snugly over undergarments or lightweight pants without a belt. Do not add any extra room.

Cross Shoulder

The cross shoulder measurement is taken following the natural curve of upper back from the edge of one shoulder to the other. Locate the edge of the shoulder with your hands as shown.Starting from the edge of one shoulder, run the tape along the natural arc of the trapezius muscles, to the edge of the other shoulder.

Jacket Sleeve Length

The jacket sleeve length is measured from the top edge of the shoulder, down to the wrist. Start by having the person being measured stand up straight with their arms relaxed at their sides.Locate the edge of the shoulder with your hands as shown. Place the end of the tape measure at the shoulder's edge, then run it down along the outside of the arm. While measuring, anchor the tape at the natural bend in the elbow, then continue down to where the wrist meets the hand. We suggest repeating this measurement a couple times on each arm. It's not uncommon for the left and right arms to vary in length. In this case, take the average of these two measurements.Jacket sleeve lengths should be one inch shorter than shirt sleeve lengths so that shirt cuffs are visible while wearing the jacket.

Low Hip

The low hip measurement is taken around the fullest part of the hips and butt. Start with the person facing you side on.Pass the measuring tape around the hip bones and butt, ensure that the measuring tape is level all the way around.Hold the tape snug to the body without squeezing and take the measurement side on at the hip bone.

Knee Circumference

The knee measurement is taken around the center of the knee cap. Have the person in a relaxed stance.Wrap the measuring tape around the center of the knee and measure snug to the skin.Be sure the person is relaxed and not flexing their leg. This measurement should be taken wearing underwear or shorts.Do not add any extra room. We will add the appropriate amount of fabric allowance to this measurement.

Inseam

Pant inseam length is measured from the 4-way crotch seam, down to the floor if barefooted, or to the top of the shoe heel. Then subtract one inch for a conservative full break; one and a half inches for a medium break; and two inches for no break.Alternatively, you may measure the inseam length of a pair of pants that fit well. Then, either match that length, or adjust to improve.

Forearm Circumference

The forearm measurement is taken around the largest portion of the lower arm, generally around 2 inches below the elbow. Have the person stand up straight with arms relaxed at their sides.Wrap the measuring tape around their forearm and measure snug to the skin. Be sure the person is relaxed and not flexing their arm at all. This measurement should be taken on the bare, dominant arm. Do not add any extra room. We will add the appropriate amount of fabric allowance to this measurement.

Chest Circumference

The chest measurement is taken around the fullest part of the back and chest usually right at nipple height. Start with the person facing you.Have them raise their arms so that you can pass the measuring tape under their arms around their back to meet at the front. Then have them lower their arms.Hold the tape snug to the body without squeezing and take the measurement while the person is relaxed and breathing naturally. This measurement should be taken over a lightweight shirt or shirtless. Do not add any extra room. We will add the appropriate amount of fabric allowance to this measurement.

Belly Circumference

The stomach measurement is taken around the fullest part of the belly, generally around one inch below the navel. Start with the person facing you.Pass the measuring tape around the lower back to meet around the fullest part of the belly. Ensure that the measuring tape is level all the way around.Hold the tape snug to the body without squeezing and take the measurement while the person is relaxed and breathing naturally. This measurement should be taken over a lightweight shirt or shirtless.Do not add any extra room. We will add the appropriate amount of fabric allowance to this measurement.

Jacket Length

The jacket length measurement is taken from the base of the neck straight down to where you want the back of the jacket to fall.Starting from the base of the neck or if they are wearing a dress shirt, the base of the collar - measure straight down to the desired length of the jacket.A common mistake is to underestimate the jacket length. It is helpful to be wearing a jacket when taking this measurement because you can see how low it falls in front and back, then decide if you want to match or adjust that length.Typical jacket length falls to the level of the first knuckle of the thumb when worn standing straight with arms relaxed at the sides.

Thigh Circumference

The thigh measurement is taken around the upper thigh at the base of the crotch. Have the person stand up straight with arms relaxed at their sides.Wrap the measuring tape around the upper thigh and measure snug to the skin.
